The largest multi-purpose outdoor venue in the region has two football/cricket grounds (one with a turf wicket, the main ground with a synthetic pitch), seven synthetic surface netball courts and a separate open area on the east side of the Rec Reserve precinct next to the skate park.
The No.1 oval has four light towers that produce 150LUX. The No.2 oval has two light towers which produce enough light for training purposes. Night matches can be held at the netball complex thanks to eight light towers over the seven courts.
The Wonthaggi Power social rooms on the main oval have a bar and small kitchen. Both the main oval and netball facility have a small kiosk.
The change rooms and pavilions on the football/cricket grounds offer shade. There are shade structures at the ends of most of the netball courts. There are 60 marked car spaces next to the netball courts along Korumburra Road. Cars can park around the boundary of both ovals which could hold a total of approximately 300 cars.
The near new netball facility was opened in April 2017. It is the only facility in the Bass Coast region that has more than two courts. It is used by both the Wonthaggi & District Netball Association and the Wonthaggi Power Football Netball Club. The football grounds are the home of the Wonthaggi Power who play in the Gippsland League. During cricket season the grounds are used by the Wonthaggi Miners Cricket Club.
The Wonthaggi Show Society holds its annual Rural Show at the venue. Adjacent to the Wonthaggi Recreation Reserve is the Bass Coast Aquatic Leisure Centre and the Wonthaggi Tennis Club.
