The Arts Centre is Bass Coast Shire Council’s main entertainment and arts centre which has recently undergone a $2.2million upgrade. The large theatre and cinema space has a capacity of 420. Part of the recent upgrade was ensuring the latest in lighting technology was installed to aid any performer in producing a fine show.

Aside from being the major cinema in Wonthaggi showing the latest release movies, highlight performances at the venue include shows by James Morrison, Leo Sayer and the Melbourne International Comedy Festival Roadshow. The centre hosts local theatre group performances, dancing groups, film festivals and visiting performers.

The Arts Centre’s candy bar sells lollies, chocolates, drinks and popcorn. Newly installed comfortable seats for 420 viewers. A car park with a capacity of 70 cars is across the road from the Union while street parking is available on Graham Street and surrounding road.
